Duties & Responsibilities:
Safety Assurance Activities:
- Perform regular safety audits and assessments across operations to ensure compliance with SMS and CAGM 1902 standards.
- Conduct safety inspections and safety performance monitoring to identify and assess hazards and risks.
- Monitor the implementation and effectiveness of corrective and preventive actions in response to identified risks or audit findings.
- Develop and maintain the Safety Assurance program, including tracking and reporting safety assurance data.
Risk Management and Analysis:
- Participate in safety risk assessments, hazard identification, and risk analysis, documenting findings and recommendations.
- Analyse operational data, safety reports, and incident reports to identify trends and emerging safety concerns.
- Use data-driven insights to recommend measures to mitigate risks and enhance safety performance.
Documentation and Reporting:
- Prepare comprehensive reports, including findings, risk assessments, and recommendations, in compliance with CAAM guidance.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date safety records, including audit reports, risk assessments, and hazard logs.
- Assist in preparing regular safety performance reports for management review.
Safety Communication and Promotion:
- Facilitate safety meetings, workshops, and training to enhance safety awareness and a positive safety culture.
- Disseminate relevant safety information and lessons learned from safety investigations or industry best practices.
Continuous Improvement Initiatives:
- Support the development and implementation of continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing the SMS.
- Engage in safety data analysis to identify potential risks and recommend proactive safety measures.
Stakeholder Collaboration:
- Work closely with various departments (e.g., Flight Operations, Maintenance, Ground Operations) to ensure the integration of SMS processes.
- Serve as a liaison between the organisation and regulatory bodies, when necessary, regarding safety assurance matters.
Continuous Improvement and Training:
- Identify opportunities to enhance the effectiveness of the SMS and recommend improvements.
- Provide support in delivering safety training programs and SMS awareness sessions for employees.
- Stay updated with the latest safety management best practices, regulations, and CAAM updates.
Job Requirements & Skills:
- Diploma in Aviation Management, Safety Management, or a related field, OR;
- Experience in safety assurance, safety management systems, or a similar role within the aviation industry, OR;
- Relevant safety certification(s) preferred (e.g., SMS certification, ICAO, or other recognized aviation safety qualifications).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective interaction across departments.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Problem-solving abilities with a proactive approach to safety challenges.
- Proficient in safety assurance process and Microsoft Office Suite.
