Duties & Responsibilities:
Flight Data Monitoring & Analysis
- Analyse flight data monitoring (FDM) systems and flight data management (FDM) outputs to identify trends, anomalies, and potential safety risks.
- Conduct routine safety analysis of flight data to support the identification of operational hazards and safety concerns.
- Investigate flight data events to assess risk levels and ensure timely reporting to relevant safety teams.
Safety Performance Reporting
- Prepare and present detailed reports on flight safety data, including safety event trends, safety performance indicators (SPI), and performance against safety targets.
- Contribute to the generation of monthly and quarterly safety performance reports for management and regulatory bodies.
- Track corrective actions and follow up on safety-related findings to ensure implementation of mitigation strategies.
Regulatory Compliance & Reporting
- Ensure compliance with aviation safety regulations and standards, including the reporting of safety events in accordance with CAAM and other relevant regulations.
- Maintain awareness of regulatory changes affecting safety flight data analysis and implement necessary process adjustments.
Stakeholder Collaboration
- Work closely with flight crew members, safety members, and operational teams to interpret flight data findings and recommend corrective actions.
- Provide training and support to staff on the use of flight data analysis tools and interpretation of results.
Tool & Technology Utilisation
- Manage and optimize flight data analysis tools and software systems used for safety monitoring.
- Stay updated on new technologies and methodologies in flight data analysis and recommend improvements to existing tools.
Continuous Improvement and Safety Culture
- Identify areas for improvement in the flight data analysis and implement changes to enhance organisational resilience and safety culture.
- Promote a proactive safety culture within the organisation by fostering open communication, continuous learning, and awareness of safety protocols.
- Collaborate with internal teams, sharing best practices and ensuring alignment with overall organisational safety objectives.
Job Requirements & Skills:
- Diploma in Aviation, Aerospace Engineering, Safety Management, or related field.
- Relevant certifications in flight safety, aviation operations, or data analysis are a plus, OR;
- Experience in flight data analysis, safety management, or related roles in the aviation industry.
- Familiarity with CAGM safety guidelines and flight data monitoring systems (FDM, FOQA, etc.).
- Previous experience in a safety role within flight operations is highly desirable., OR;
- Safety Management Systems (SMS) certification preferred; knowledge of ICAO SMS frameworks and CAAM, or Relevant certifications in flight safety, aviation operations, or data analysis are advantageous.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in flight data analysis software and tools (e.g., FDM, FOQA systems).
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present complex data clearly and effectively.
- Understanding of aviation safety regulations and SMS processes.
- Strong interpersonal skills for effective coordination with various departments and agencies.
